Guardians of the Prairie was created as a tribute to the history and spirit of Oklahoma. The painting brings together two powerful figures deeply woven into the story of my home. I wanted the two figures to feel almost like spirits emerging from the past, layered together as a reminder of the strength, resilience, and history that still live within the Oklahoma landscape today. Painted in my signature bold red and turquoise palette, the piece takes imagery rooted in the past and brings it forward through a modern lens.
To me, Guardians of the Prairie is about remembering what came before us and honoring the enduring connection between people, wildlife, and the land they shared.
