Texas Red is a bold portrayal of an outlaw cowboy on horseback, inspired by the legendary storytelling of Marty Robbins’ song Big Iron. The painting captures the danger, confidence, and mystery of the Old West; a lone outlaw whose reputation seems to arrive before he does.
Vibrant red pushes through layers of turquoise and deep teal, giving the piece a charged, almost cinematic energy. Heavy contrast and expressive texture bring the cowboy and his horse forward from the canvas, blending the nostalgia of classic Western folklore with a modern, electric color palette.

Alexis Frazier is a Tulsa-based artist specializing in acrylic and oil painting. She has loved creating art from a young age and has continually pursued her dream of becoming a full-time artist.
