Inspired by Marty Robbins’ classic Western ballad Big Iron, The Stranger captures the mystery, danger, and legend of the American Old West.
The painting pays tribute to the outlaws, gunslingers, and wandering figures immortalized through generations of Western stories and songs. While the stranger’s face and features give him a sense of identity, his story remains untold. He is not meant to represent one particular man, but rather the legends that have outlived the men themselves.
The Stranger is a reflection of a time when reputation traveled faster than truth, and a man could become a legend long before his story was ever fully known.

Alexis Frazier is a Tulsa-based artist specializing in acrylic and oil painting. She has loved creating art from a young age and has continually pursued her dream of becoming a full-time artist.
