We Have Always Loved to Ride is a piece about something that has followed us through generations; the desire to go faster, push harder, and chase that feeling of adrenaline. The painting features nine different riders, most on modern mountain bikes, with a lone cowboy on a bucking horse at the center.
I loved the idea of connecting these two worlds because, despite being separated by generations, the spirit behind them is much the same. Long before we were launching bikes off trails and chasing the next thrill, cowboys were climbing onto the backs of powerful animals and testing just how long they could hold on. The equipment may change, but that instinct for adventure, risk, and the freedom that comes from the ride has always been there.
